I have the compendium hood for my Shen-Hao 4x5 too. There is a slot at the back that one would assume is for filters, but I was also told by Badger that the hood does not accept filters. Being stubborn and assuming the slot would not be there if it wasn't intended to be used, I took some gelatine filters in 4" cardboard mounts made for the compendium hood for my Calumet CC400 and taped extensions to them so that they now fit. Or you could just cut your own cardboard mounts for gel filters to the right size and use them. God knows what Shen-Hao was thinking when they made the slot the size they did. Maybe in China someone sells 4.5" filter mounts.

Dead Link Removed describes the shade as having slots front & rear for filters and masks. I'd presume somebody in the design/manufacturing process at Shen-Hao had a filter template;-)
