This is an article worth reading. I think that its main point, about the general loss of "connectivity" with our artistic potential is something to give a LOT of thought. The more we allow others to do for us, (even influencing our vision through criticism) the less involved we are with our own works.

I am a little puzzled by the title of this thread, though. I nearly passed by - I'm NOT interested in what it suggested; a rant of some sort about "digitalism" (pro or con) ... but there is only a passing reference in the article about digital imaging telephones. I admit that the articles title is a bit ponderous:

"An Exhibition About Drawing Conjures a Time When Amateurs Roamed the Earth",

...but I see nothing here about "Alternate Digital Processes".

Think of it as something else you can do with your digits, Ed.

Walking back from the library one evening, some kids playing in the street asked me if I was going to watch the match (alas I did not know of any match at all) so replied, 'I'd rather do something than watch it'. To my astonishment they were speechless a complete turnaround from our usual repartee.
