To celebrate some personal health victories, and the resumption of film photography, in a moment of partial insanity, I have leapt headfirst into the rabbit hole that is Ihagee Exakta Varex cameras. Some time ago, I bought a junk box from an estate sale that included two bodies (one had been partly stripped, the other is in rough condition and the shutter curtain is worse), so of course, I doubled down by buying a clean, working IIb body and a couple lenses.

Included in the "junk box" was a couple of waist level finders, a prism finder, and a Harwix Examat TTL Prism Finder. I put a battery in it, and to my surprise, it seemed to work, so I put an MR-9 adapter in it, and... it works. It might even work correctly, but that's tough to tell, because the shutter speed dial is completely out of alignment, and I suspect many dirty contacts inside the meter.

Anyone have any experience working on these things? I found the manual at butkus (of course), but that doesn't include servicing information. Before I try popping the dial off with the Very Prominent screw, I thought I'd do some basic research to see if anyone has advice, manuals, or suggestions.

... yes, I know, "get a real light meter", but that's not nearly as much fun. šŸ˜Ž
