As you might imagine cleaning out the old family home is an adventure on its own but what might be of interest to this forum is the 7-8 silver recovery machines I discovered. My father was in the silver recovery business in the 1990s recovering silver from fixer. The machines he used are Ramsay corporation electrolytic silver recovery machines. Ramsey is defunct as are most old school companies. I'm wondering if anyone on here does their own recovery with machines like these? I would imagine they might be over kill for hobbyist but one never knows. cheers

We're about to hold our openhouse for the community darkroom we've started just outside of Philadelphia - www.BucksCountyDarkroom.org. I wonder if any of your units are still functional? Do you know if they require running water or are they essentially self-contained?

They are essentially self contained. they are made to connect directly to the fixer bath and recirculate. I also know the odds are good. I fired one up and essentially worked but I don't think I have my ph correct for best results etc.

After playing with them, ultimately I am looking to rehome the machines. I also have pounds of green xray film I was going to process. Not enough for the free pick up places but several hundreds of silver on them.

Hi vmason. I'd like to learn more about the machine. The community darkroom is in Stockton, NJ, about 90 min from Philadelphia and 2hrs from NYC. My email address is **********. We could certainly talk on the phone as well if that is easier. Thanks! Steve

Hi vmason. Thank you for all the info! How big/heavy are these units? I'm outside of Philadelphia - please let me know where the units are to see if it's practical to pick one of them up. Thanks! Steve
