Hello,

I have some Ektar 25 that I want to shoot for an assignment. I am likely going to lab process for this assignment, however, and I want to find out if Ektar 25 will be stabilized properly in current C-41 chemicals. I have used film from the same batch of Ektar 25 and processed it at home using the old Kodak Stabilizer, which has been replaced by Final Rinse. However, I have heard from PE that older films will not be processed correctly if you use Final Rinse; you need Stabilizer.

If this film needs Stabilizer, can I get it lab processed, and then bring it home and use my own Stabilizer?

Thank you in advance.

You need stabilizer, as it is an "old" C41 film.

You can get it lab processed, but must use stabilizer, not final rinse for this product. If you fail to do so, it may begin to become more orange and lose dmax with time.

Good luck to you. Some batches of Ektar 25 did not keep well.

Thank you.

I got some great results from the last Ektar 25 that I tried from this batch. The orange mask was more coral colored than orange, but the negs printed well.

I mistyped in my original post. I meant to ask if it would work to bring home lab processed film and then use my own [old] Stabilizer on it. I have several bottles of it left.
