Do you get these colors from your film and lens ? I think these examples will teach some folks about colors they are missing in their system.

I don't get the question, nor do I see how you are going to teach us something about what is "missing in [our] system" :smile:rolleyes:smile: with what you posted. Anybody gets those colors if they simply photograph things that are these colors with a color film that exhibits excellent color accuracy.

If you use a Leica , yes you can see many of these colors at your photographs suprisingly and happily.
But I guess lots of folks never saw these strong colors at their pictures .
Yes if you take a picture of these web page , you can see some colors.
But at ordinary life , you need a color amp like Leica.

You have long way to walk 2F.

You are 100% wrong that you need a Leica to photograph certain colors. That is a simple fact.

You have long way to walk 2F.

I have a long way to walk every day...This is L.A., after all...but then I take my car instead.

What exactly are you trying to say? Are you serious, or are you just trying to screw with us every time you post here?

Asking you what the hell you are talking about is not hijacking the thread. You have hijacked your own thread from the start by being extremely nonsensical, and then hypersensitive to questions, criticism, and differing points of view.

So, back to the original question: What the hell are you talking about in your OP?

Images taken from wetcanvas.com

Do you mean to say that they were not taken with a Leica, the praises of which you so eloquently sung in this linked thread (permanently etched into my memory like a bad nightmare): (there was a url link here which no longer exists)??? How on Earth did you get those colors, in that case?

I quote:

"Summitar lens is like fighting with a boxer  You take ordinary pictures , this goes on and one day it knocks you down with the image quality.
Find someone and a 100 watt filament transparent , most ordinary bulb light and take his face from side with best sharp focus you can from different distance to the light.
You will find in some conditions , it gives extreme sharpness , roundness , light games , shadow games.
Dont correct the color change with photoshop.
Summitar glass is doped with thorium and back lens element selected from lead doped glass for not to allow radiation to burn expose the film.
This glass is extremelly special and hard to manufacture and unhealthy for the workers. It is the best lens material ever Leica used. If I am not wrong , after deciding not to use this glass , they start to make normal glass and summaron. Today summaron sold with 25000 dollar Leica S2 to a price 6000 dollars !

This shot made 15 years ago with konica 200 asa on fuji paper with summitar and IIf.
Look at right woman face , neck and zoom to left womans eye.
Leica is good because its viewfinder pupil is small and you can see the whole image instantly and you automatically trim the camera to a better composition , you cant to it with canon
You will discover , you feel like Capa.
And look at its mechanism , elegent velvetly silent and smooth.
I think you bought the Leicas best camera combo.
Dont use Fuji , always use Kodak.
Look at popular photography annals from 50s and learn what people did when photography still alive
Good luck ,

Mustafa Umut Sarac"

...and here is the beautiful example that you included as evidence of the preceding (This here is an example of what a Leica can do in the right hands, folks, so get ready to be amazed!): http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_l5YNpRMm2eA/S06UimxEAgI/AAAAAAAAABg/RpG-Zz1N9IY/s1600-h/DSC01481.JPG!!!

So, again: What is your point in this thread, or is it really just the nonsense that it seems to be? That is what I asked (and what I am sure most who read the thread were thinking, whether they asked or not), and then you got nasty.

Is it just me or this thread weirdly amusing? I'm crying of laughter. I have no idea what to make of it though, is there a question, a statement or something in between? Wonderful thread.

I would vote in with amusing, Camera Brand Fanatics are worse then people who argue about which text editor is best, its not the camera that makes the pictures, its the person who is using it, the Camera is just a tool.

vi(m) rules... or something like that.

i was wondering the same thing though

to me it looks like you found a neat website with a good and graphic color swatch wheel and tried to find a way to fit it into photography so you could be the "finder of cool site guy"

I have leica, and nikon system. Leica is quieter, and less aggressive but - I don't see any difference in picture quality between summicron 50 and nikkor 50/1.8 or 105/2.5

edit: and if I must choose only one system - it would be nikon . I love my M6, but I love my F3 even more

Actually no... I'll be serious for a minute ;-) Leica glass is crap - everyone knows that. I have not seen any decent colours from that Noctilux thing at f1.0. The colours are all swishy and swirly!!! Why would you bother??? Agghh!

My Leica shoots black and white.

I seriously like the color charts, though. Pretty.

The very act of either scanning or photographing the color samples for posting has obviated the validity of the statement.

Yes, but sometimes the camera is not the only tool present.

Mustafa is certainly one of the most passionate posters here on APUG - especially when he is posting about Leica.

He also can be one of the most interesting.

If I may, I'd say that I appreciate what he adds, in particular the colour he contributes to the site (pun sort of intended).

Even if I don't agree with him about the value of things that are not Leica.

He is different for sure! But then again so is everybody else!
