Hi

I recently bought some 2nd hand darkroom equipment to get started with developing my own prints.

Among the things i bought was a Dirst M601 enlarger. It has a CLS66 colour head for processing and the condenser head for B+W. Unfortunately the power supply for the CLS66 is missing and the Sivocon 50 condenser is missing.

It came with both 50mm and 80mm enlarging lenses so for now i have put the 2 Sivocon 80's in and the 80mm lens, but will be printing exclusively from 35mm so would prefer it to be set up for that.

Does anyone know where i may be able to buy a Sivocon50 or a power supply for the CLS66 please? Preferably from a supplier in the UK or one which will ship here.

Thanks in advance

never seen the condensors advertised seperately, so good luck with that one! The only disadvantage of printing your 35mm with the 80 setup is print size on the baseboard.

I had the B&W condensor head on my M601 so can't assist with the transformer, but if you get desperate what you could do (and what I did with my LPL C7700) is use a 'special' downlight transformer. There are many different ones available but they (lighting, hardware shops) won't have them on the shelves most likely. I searched a catalogue to find one to match the globe and it works fine.

Thanks guys

I tried contacting Dursts main spares agent in the uk and they say they aren't available anymore.

I'll try some prints with the 80's in and see how i get on. I tried some before i realised what was missing with the Sivocons 80's and a 50mm lens and was getting uneven light distribution (dark edges etc).

In the meantime i'll keep searching ebay for the condenser or maybe another cheap enlarger for spares. I'll also look into the transformer as maybe a working colour head will come in handy for colour work when i know a bit more about what i'm doing! I'm still a complete amateur at the moment but hopefully one day i'll have some pictures worth posting on here.

Thanks again
Matt

I would say keep an eye on ebay for another enlarger - there are some amazing deals out there.

If I manage to get my Durst AC1201 intalled I might have a neat Minolta enlarger looking for a home - but I have to make a small structural alteration the attic (where my darkroom is) to get the big Durst in and I don't know when this might be yet.

I bought my 'minty' and complete Durst 600 on eBay for $9.99 and latter on a spare condenser head for $10. Shipping chargers were reasonable for both items. I see Durst gear listed all the time and I believe the chances are good that you'll be able to find what you need without a lot of trouble. Be sure that you take a look in the 'stores' as odds and ends are, in my experience, more likely to be found there than listed in the auctions.

Cheers

Durst M601 Enlarger with complete CLS66 colorhead available

You may no longer be looking for one, but I have a complete Durst M601 enlarger with a complete (and fully functional) CLS66 colorhead, which I purchased new several years ago. I'd estimate less than 50 hours use on the enlarger. The halogen bulb is new, and both the original voltage regulator and the enlarger timer are fully functional, as well.

If you (or another forum participant) is interested in the unit and all accessories (Nikor lens, focus loupe, 2-1/4 x 2-1/4 light box, 35mm light box, etc.), please contact me at bshort@sprintmail.com
