Recently Downtown Camera has announced that Kodak dropped the prices on all of it's products!

Lets hope that the distributor dropped the prices so lets see if other stores follow suit soon.

Yes they are very much interested in wet darkroom supplies, I buy when I need from them, specifically I am very glad they brought HC110 back in the bigger bottles.

Is the new price "new price" or "am/fm price"? Thanks for the list!

The AM/FM prices are if you have an AM/FM membership at the store, which is for 20 dollars a year, you get a 25 percent discount on all kodak products at the store. The "new price" is just for regular customers.

I'd heard about this earlier this year so it's good to see them adjust their pricing. They knew they were getting hammered by B&H's free shipping and pricing and had to do something. With the 'membership fee', the pricing is now on par or slightly better than buying from B&H. I'm in Toronto so the free shipping is now moot.

It is nice to see Canadians getting a price break of film and chemicals.

Hello, I'm writing from Downtown Camera. I would clarify that Downtown Camera has dropped their retail prices for film, not Kodak. We apologize if this has caused any confusion. Thank you.

I read her post as meaning that the price drop originated within her organization, not within Kodak.
That makes sense, because Kodak Alaris doesn't sell directly to Canadian retailers.

Great news! Thanks Downtown Camera! Happy to keep patronizing your business.

mehguy, I'm astonished to see your profile picture. How many folks living in Toronto are both Amiga fans and shoot film? Perhaps we should start The Anachronists club.

add me to the list, I had a couple of Amiga's

Good to see the downtown announcement - if only they would stock flexicolor C41 liquids for pickup, Toronto would be an amazing place to live again (and not just the freezing cold place it currently is)

That, plus expansion of transit service, a plentiful supply of $900 apartments, and a chicken in every pot!

I understand there's also a 10% (?) discount on other goods in the store so the savings could add up well past the cost of membership. Guess I'm stopping by next time I'm downtown.

Well, I popped in today and picked up some Cinestill 800T. Bulk Tri-X is still crazy expensive and the membership is only 10% off brands other than Kodak. Kodak with the membership is 25% off. Good deal if I wanted to go back to Kodak

was down there today and they had Cinestill C-41 kits for $50 (before 10% discount, which I think applies, not sure)

I'll have to look into the membership. Kodak is my preferred stock at this point. As a longtime regular they extended me the pro discount (10%) a long time ago.

Re: Amiga, it might be too subtle but that's what I originally intended in my online handle. Filmamigo = I shoot film + I love Amigas. It just seemed weird to use the female gendered noun, so I switched it to Amigo! LOL
