I have an old Epson 1290 that I just kicked back into life. I'd like to find a good transparency media to use with it, but Pictorico seems difficult to find here in Sweden.

Greatful for all input.

Best regards,
Henning

I'm not in Europe but the Agfa SelectJet seems to be a popular choice in the UK and France. As a matter of fact I wish it was sold here in the US. Christian Nze in France seems to think that it is as good as Pictorico, thogh I don't know how it compares in price.

Hi Henning, the Agfa film works fine. Sometimes there are problems with curling as it is thinner compared to Pictorico. You get it easy and cheap in Sweden. This is also very intresting Dead Link Removed. Looks and feels like Pictorico but to a much better price. You will find it in the city where you are living.

Does it dry and hold ink as well as Pictorico?

Thanks,

Dont know haven't tried it yet. Got some sample sheets a few days ago and I will try them i a couple of days I hope. But I suppose it hold inks very good as its designed for graphic buisness as the Agfa films are.

Hans,

What is the result of your test?
Do you find Ulano film useful for pigmented inksets?
Do you think it can give UV densities close to log 3.0?

Thanks in advance,
Loris.

perfect proof

I'm using Perfect Proof High Density Inkjet Film and Agfa Copy- and SelectJet. Perfect Proof gives a little better results with my inks (MIS). It can be easily found here in the Netherlands through graphic suppliers for the printing/proofing industry. Perfect Proof is a Belgian company based in Mechelen but has also a US branch. Agfa and Perfect Proof films are about the same price and cheaper then Pictorico. Agfa (CopyJet) comes in more and also smaller sizes, PP starts at 13x19 sheets and various roll sizes. But I noticed that cutting your own A3/A4 sheets from a 43cmx30m roll is the most economical solution for smaller sizes.

Thanks Kees,

Will look for local distributors / resellers for these products. I'm especially interested in Ulano since we have a distributor here (for other products) who's willing to import PIJF product also. Agfa doesn't import SelectJet into Turkey. I don't know about Perfect Proof...

Regards,
Loris.
