Difference Between normal dev. & that for minilab?

I was looking around for color chemistry (C41 and RA4 developer), and I noticed that the most inexpensive of the chems. were for minilabs. Can these only be used for minilabs, or can they be used in normal handheld tank / jobo processing? What's the difference?

Size. Lack of manuals in the box.

I think the smallest chemicals I've seen aimed at minilabs was at least 1litre. Most are bigger then that. So you're buying bigger bottles of stuff. That's not 1litre of diluted mix that's 1litre of concentrate.

The bottles I bought came with little more then the name on the bottle and a few lines. No big issue I went to the Fuji-Hunt website and downloaded the docs.

If you can figure out what you need I don't know of any problems with machine chemicals.

Besides quantity? I'm pretty sure you can use most of the mini lab chems in small tanks, but the stuff is designed to be mixed in much larger amounts than the "regular" kits and are also meant for replenished systems.

Depending on my (reasonably) short term needs, I buy either 1 liter or 1 gallon liquid concentrate kits and mix what I need for a processing session. If I'm doing sheet film in a drum, I run it one-shot and have fresh chems for each batch. Since I'm only using a few ounces at a time, it's still a lot cheaper than sending it out.

The chems we used to get from Kodak, were designed to make 5 liters of working solution for our C41 machine, but they are the same chems as you can buy in smaller kits, I just purchased a hobby kit for E6 and it is the same chems, just in smaller quanities than we used in the lab.

But before you can worry about price you have to check yield so you know it's apple to apples.

And on a similar note- who has about the best deals on minilab chems and paper?? I know that you can get the stuff right through Kodak and Fuji, but what about places like B&H or Adorama? Who ships the stuff??
