Since Kirk began the project at LF Forum I have posted a report there in kind. I hope Sean will tolerate the diversion. For those of you that followed the thread of Kirk Gittings giving an 8X10 Eastman to a deserving party, the report is here. Great fun and a worthwhile read if you're wondering about the next generation of LF users.

Jim and Kirk - Your generosity and willingness to share your time and knowledge is very impressive (a lesson to all of us so entrenched in our passion for LF, we often forget (or, lack the patience) to offer our knowledge and help to aspiring students.
Yes, Deep Springs College is a wonderful place developed not only for academics but also to learn the value of work. I first discovered this college after a two-day shoot on top of the White Mountains in the area of the Schulman Grove just below the peak (11,000-feet) gathering images of gnarled Bristlecone Pines (reportedly the oldest living trees in the world/estimated to be about 5,000-years old!).

Those intereseted in Deep Springs College might wnt to get my book, "The Students of Deep Springs College"--photographs made with an 8x10 (and one 8x20) when I taught there in the fall of 1995. Great text, too. Info is at www.lodimapress.com

I have a copy of the Deep Springs book, I can recommend it on both a photographic level and for those who are interested in what Deep Springs does.

Like all of Michael and Paula's books the quality of the reproductions is outstanding.
