Hello,

I'm looking for a decent place to send my color work out to be processed. I work with both medium format and LF 4x5, E-6 and C-41. I'm not too concerned about having prints made, as I'll do that on my own. But I would like to find an inexpensive place, and it doesn't need to be a prolab.

My local WalMart says they can send out the 120 for around $3.60, which doesn't sound too bad, and it includes prints.

Can you suggest some other places?

Thanks,
Martin

Where are you located? I can personaly vouch for Newlab in San Francisco, CA. Best place to get color filmed developed.

I'm located in Cleveland Ohio. Although, I have no problem with sending things through the post if prices are good.

If in fact that price is correct, jump on it. Sounds way too low to me though. My guess is that prints will be extra.

Yes, the price is correct, and does include prints. I visited the Walmart Lab and they called whoever (fuji?) does there work thats sent out, and they confirmed it. Although I want to double check, and see if they can do E6.

But I still need a place to do my 4x5, any thoughts?

Thanks,
Martin

4x5 is going to absolutely be a Pro-Lab, as nobody else will touch it. Surely in Cleveland or even Columbus there must be a lab that can process your 4x5 for you. And if they do, they most certainly will offer both E6 and C41.

LF is a more expensive format no matter what you do. You already live in one of the largest cities in the US, surely there is a local option for you.

Newlab prices:

120- $5 per roll
4x5- $3 a sheet, add $1 if it is in a holder or readyload packet

that is for e-6 or c-41

I've given it some thought, and I might just end up trying to process my own at home. I'll have more control, and can also learn a little more about the process. Thanks everyone for the input!
