What is the local report around the world on the current price and present shelf stock of Agfa APX 100 and 400?

As always thanks in advance

Well, I have been holding out thus far, but I realize that my dream of buying craploads of the film and getting rich on eBay once the price goes up is unrealistic, so here goes...

Filmart in New York is still listing it on their site at $1.49 for 100 and $1.59 for 400. I have purchased it many times from them, and just got another shipment in, which will likely be my last. I am in the process of looking for a new film to replace it with and am thinking that I will use this until I am happy with a replacement or I run out.

Crap, I just went to their site to get the link and they have run out. I don't know if it is permanent since they have been out of stock and gotten more back in several times over the last few months. I don't have a good feeling about it, however. They do still show the 400 in stock.

Our local stores still seem to have it in stock at about $3 per roll, but they don't stock much or sell much.

This is really a downer.

Paul.

I've shopped around as well, mostly for the 100, and everyone is out. I'm afraid that the end of it, unless you get lucky.

However, I also like FP-4 (a close 2nd to APX 100; APX 100 used to have the best midtones with Rodinal 1+50. I'll miss that) and am looking forward to trying Efke.

As for APX 400, not as great a loss I'm afraid, there's Tri-x and HP-5 to fill the gap. However, APX 400 was a very nice film at a great price.

Last week I bought up the last 3 rolls of APX 100 in 120 from my local camera shop. The owner said they wouldn't be getting any more in. This is a bummer indeed. Great film despite those who don't like the fact that it has more grain than other 100 speed films. Probably the sharpest film out there IMO.

Well, I have decided to be a capitalist pig about this situation and am watching eBay to see when prices go up. For now, TX will do and I am also going to try FP-4, Efke, Delta, and Acros. Pretty big downer, but if I shoot what I have, it will just delay the inevitable. Why not make a little money off of the 50 or so rolls I have and just move on.

Oh, and I am not going to sell on APUG, that would be too sleazy!

Thanks .....Paul the prices you quoted were the lowest so far, but as you say out of stock....I was wanting to stock up on the lowest price quality MF B and W and had read the postings on APUG about the discontinuance of the MF agfa film...best price here was 1.79 with my educators (local) discount. One store has a price of 2.79 for the 400....expiration date of 01/2009.

If you want the 400, I do recommend Filmart. I have always gotten good service from them. Their shipping is kind of high for small orders, it starts at $10, but it doesn't go up much for even very large orders.

No idea about current prices and availabilty, I'm afraid. I filled my freezer with APX 100 in 6.5x9, 9x12, 13x18 and 120 a month ago.
