Good Day,
I have posted details on the the Credit Provincial Park Photo Outing. The info can be found here

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Those beautiful folks at J and C photo are sponsoring this event. Once again we owe a hardy thanks and a healthy order to John and his gang.

Iain Mitchell (rogueish) is the Tour leader. He will be giving one of the two tours and training his back-up. This brings me to my second reason for posting. We need volunteers to assist on this tour. If you are interested please contact me.

This sounds great. Thank you for setting it up.
Do I understand correctly from the schedule that the two tours will be Friday morning and Saturday afternoon?

Unfortunately at age 66 I carry my 8x10 gear in a baby jogger with 20" wheels. Can this be used on the trails, walks, etc. or are there stairs or rocky climbs that eliminate such equipment? If I can’t use the jogger I am still interested in going but without the camera gear. I just need to know what is there.

By what procedure do we sign up?

Thanks,

John Powers

Could you arrange for a live video Webcast for those of us who can't attend? (lol)

Seriously, sounds like a great outing in a lovely area. We'll expect to see many fine images in the gallery.

John,
I don't expect the tours to be over booked. So there is no sign-up at this time. I figure we will have a sign-up sheet available at the conference.

Great. What are your thoughts about access with the camera carrying baby jogger?

Sorry john I didn't answer your question. rogueish can answer this directly, but it appears that you will be able to navigate a good portion of the park with the jogger.

The trail from the Inn to the river is mostly flat(ish) hard packed earth, some crushed gravel, and is wide enough for the park ranger vehicles. I will help you lift your gear over the gate at the entrance, if it won't fit through. You should have no major problems with the jogger. There are hills, but the trails are fairly easy. On the other side of the river there is a major staircase, I WILL NOT help with those babies, simply because I will not be climbing them myself. There are easier, but longer, ways up on other trails.
I plan on going back to the park this weekend. A wooden bridge over over the railway tracks was being replaced and I want to check on it's progress.
Anyone who comes on the tour and requires some assisstance with luggging of gear, I will help as much as possible.

On the "official" tour page (there was a url link here which no longer exists) it is mentioned that for the adventerous, a climb down to the river below the falls is possible.

The quick route is steep, and quite likely muddy. There is no "park trail", but one made by fishermen, not the easiest of climbs if your gear is large or your hands are full. There are no rock cliffs to be climbed.

The long route is long (a couple km) and the lower trail is not suitable for wheeled transport. There will be fallen logs and large and/or lose rocks. There are no rock cliffs to be climbed.

This should be fun, I belong to a ski club in the Forks of the Credit neighbourhood and its very pretty countryside. I would be prepared for any weather contingency, spring around here could be early Summer or very late winter and wear very comfortable supportive footwear. There is in fact a great spot for picture on Lower Base Line Road east of Mississauga Road and west of McLaughlin Road it is for lack of a better term Badlands along the Bruce Trail. Photos will be in my Gallery in a few days.

Thanks for doing this and all the input. Here are some additional links that may be of interest. This all sounds very beautiful.

Just got back from the park. The bridge over the railway tracks has been fully removed, but the new one has not been started. It will NOT be finished in time for the tours. From the main path to the railway tracks is only 20-25 meters (don't quote me on this). However, the trail that people have made around the missing bridge, is down a slope, through trees. There are currently a few water sheds in the area, most will have dried up (or at least a little) for May.
I scopped out 2 ways down, one longer and not too steep, but requires a few meters along the tracks where they are a little narrow. These are semi-active tracks.
The other is steeper with more trees, I'm not too sure about wheeled transportation. Once across, there is a choice of going up the other bank and crossing the river or following along the tracks. The river and tracks run parallel at this point. Decent vantage point are on both sides.
