I picked up the liquid Pyrocat HD kit from Photo Formulary to give that a try, but I am not sure about the fix issue. I read on their instructions that it needs to be an alkaline fix and they give non-hardening rapid fix as an example. We use exactly that in our darkroom, but I am a little nervous since it seems that every reference here is about using a different, more esoteric if you will, fixer. It would be great if I didn't need to get a special fixer to use the developer. In fact, if I need to, I might just not even try it. What have people found when using a standard non-hardening rapid fixer?

Thanks!

Paul.

I use Kodak's rapid fixer without the hardener with excellent results. Dont worry and use it.

I'll second Jorge's cooment, although I use Ilford Rapid Fix, with the same result. I did go through a stage of using alkalii fixes, AS far as I can see/ print, there really is no difference.

What Leon and Jorge said...I am using Ilford Rapid Fix as well, with Pyrocat-HD and no problems.
