I'm reading about print times having effects on print tonality and contrast. I am wondering if there is a pro or con to having the exposure lengthened to decrease contrast vs. adjusting the contrast with chemistry as in pd/pt printing?
Right now I am only printing Kalltypes, and my exposures are relatively short. I'm wondering about adding a neutral-density gel below the lamp to lengthen my exposures and see what it does to contrast as measured on a step scale.
Any thoughts?
