I have a zone vi vc head and a aristo v54 cold light on different enlargers. I would like to test some graded papers using one of these sources, I do not want to set up a third enlarger for graded paper just yet. Is anyone printing with graded papers and vc cold lights. What filter is needed to convert the vc source to print graded paper.

No filter required at all. It's just in the other direction, when using an older cold light head that yellow filtration is often used so that the unfiltered light prints at grade 2 with VC, and so that the grade spacing is relatively even with VC filters.

I agree with David's reply, as would just about everybody. However, there is what I consider to be an extraordinary statement on the Aristo website amongst the instructions for their two tube VC head at:

http://www.aristogrid.com/prod02BA.htm

"Graded papers primarily like the blue energy spectrum. You can now select maximum blue, blue with adjustable intensity or blue and green combined. In the blue adjustable position you can set the intensity level to control printing speeds or adjust for dry down time. You can also print with blue and green combined and may find it possible on some papers to achieve plus or minus a half grade by adjusting the blue green ratio"

Has anyone heard of this efect? "Some" graded papers being slightly VC?
