Randy,
sorry I'm heading to the Keys on business next week and will be trying to get away and do some shooting.

I am planning on stopping at two to three State Parks in or around the around the Orlando/Daytona Beach area, so if anyone is interested let me know.

After you go let me know what there like. I'm always looking for new parks to go to. I hit Mayaka this last weekend and I can tell you the water level is the lowest I have seen it 8 years. there is only pools of water not even a river anymore. Still think I got some shots. just haven't had time to develop them yet.

Myakka is a great spot - I've been there many times. The last time I was there, the water was getting really low and the place was FULL of people so I'm not surprised that it was that low when you were there. It is a bit shocking to see just the same. I remember when it flooded out a few years ago and wiped out the boardwalk (bird walk).

I was thinking of hitting Highlands Hammock State Park (outside of Seabring), the Econ River Wilderness area, and perhaps a few other places in this area. I'll report back on Tuesday on what I found. Highlands has lots of remote places so it's not overly crowded typicaly and there are a variety of places to visit. The Econ has some people, mostly mountain bikers, but they are typicaly spread out and mostly unobtrusive, plus there is the old railroad bridge (Flagler's) as well as some great river opportunities.

I was able to get some nice shots in the Econ State Forest, but did not get down to Highlands this weekend - it's still on my list though! The weather was HOT and it rained some of the time (hard!) but the mornings were tolerable. I covered about 3-4 miles with my 4x5 kit and got some nice images, but was turned back by the heat around mid-day. Perhaps more importantly, I was able to scout the area, find good opportunites, and I think that I can get a whole project out of this park. I'm thinking of traveling the river trail with the 4x5, and then going back to specific places with the 8x10. If you anyone is in the area and would like directions to anything specific, or would just like some company to shoot with, let me know.

Found a couple of houses to photography in key west this last week. I only got a half a day on saturday to shoot so that was the best I could do. On my way in I thought I saw some nice shots but on my way out they just didn't seem the same.
I hope to print them this week and psot a scan by friday.
