I used to be a member of two email groups, one for camera makers and one for wood-and-brass, on the same server but I seem to have lost their details. I wonder if anyone has them?

Thanks for sharing this, that was a link to our taste!

It's super to see people build their own stuff and to us it doesn't matter if it is a 4x5" pinhole made out of a cardboard box or a high tech piece of panoramic Lego.

John,

I am a member of that Yahoo Group, but it is a little on the quiet side, and of course it is not one of those I mentioned.

Jorge,

The Grepstad site is well known to me and is indeed a good source of information for camera builders; after all his design is probably the most influential among modern hobbyist camera builders, thanks to his book. However, several of the links of his page seem to be dead; I should have downloaded Daniel Rhoades' camera design drawings before his site went offline... *sighs*

So the search continues: I am still searching for brass rack-and-pinion gears, preferably available locally. among other necessary parts.

Perhaps something you want has been archived here:

I have been able to locate brass rack but no luck on getting matching pinions made from brass. I would appreciate any leads you may turn up.

What was the "wood and brass" group you mentioned earlier? Do they have an archive?
