I'd call Jim at MPEX and ask. They often have much more stuff than they are able to advertise.

disclaimer: Other than being a satisfied, repeat customer, I am not affiliated with MPEX.

Look on Ebay. MPEX never has them I quit calling. You might try Cameta Photo. I got one from them once. The boards that are on Ebay are homemade and made well. These are the hardest boards to find. The ones on Ebay might need to be drilled. I drilled my own but think the seller might do it if you ask.

keep searching ebay. There was a guy who sold them regularly. I cant find his address anymore otherwise I would email him. If you still cant find anything, let me know. I might be able to dig something up for you.

I wonder how hard it would be to make your own lens board?

The metal ones like many of the press cameras don't know how hard they are to make...the wood ones like most field cameras use are not that hard at all...a quick search of the forums here will give you some idea..

Oh, I've done that already -- twice.

The first attempt was with sheet metal. My metal working abilities are quite limited and cutting a near precise circle in the middle of a 3" square proved that. The sheet metal took on a bow that could only be flattened by over tightening the jam nut to the point the shutter required more force than I was willing to give.

The second attempt, the one I am using until something better comes along, is made from luan. The problem here is the luan is twice as thick as it should be but the bigger problem is that the lens board must have a 'lip' for a fastening screw to hold it in place. Luan is too soft not to be get buggered up, and the lens and board sit in relative danger and not 100% true.

The obvious solution will to be to have a machinist make a duplicate to the #0 board with a #1 hole but we are getting ready for vacation and I don't have enough time for that just now.

An MPEX advert came in the mail yesterday. It had Busch pressman lensboards in it....I guess it wouldn't hurt to call.

Thank you for the heads up. I am putting you back in my will.

MPEX buys them from a guy in California who makes whatever size you need.

Hi Bruce,

Here is a link to a Busch Pressman forum, I don't know how active it is these days, but do a search for lens boards, a while ago a man was selling newly made metal boards for these cameras, and I purchased several. I lokoked all over for the emails to him but can't find them. But give the forum a try.

the busch pressman forum is dead. last post was like a year ago.
I had a look and it appears quite dead. There was 1 guy (Gary9000) who was about to restart making them, he said. I did a google on him and probably found him in Kansas now but I got the feeling Bush Pressman was not a hot topic so I'll leave this one time purchase alone.

Without a home to call our own I guess. The BP exboard site seems to have run out of things to say.

Gary Deal is in Ensign Kansas http://cgi3.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage&userid=gary9000 This is his eBay profile. I saw no mention of lens boards though he sounds like the kind of guy who could make one.
