My wife and I took to the mountains this last weekend to see what the massive rains did to the waterfalls in the area. We headed up to Highlands, North Carolina but the most direct route through Sky Valley was closed due to washout so we headed up to Franklin just west of Highlands intending to take highway 64 next to the Cullasaja Gorge to see the falls, but just short of our destination we had to detour onto a parallel road, Buck Creek Road, that took us into Highlands from the backside. We found 64 on that end and headed west. Our first stop was at Bridal Veil Falls, a long time tourist stop on the side of the road. We found that a very large chunk of the clifftop has come down on the loop road, blocking it and changing the scenery drastically. Personally I think it looks better than that strip of asphalt. Theres a shot of before to compare along with a good view of the change.
The other falls we saw is on film I haven't got to yet, post later.
