Another bumper month in the UK's Black&White Photography magazine...

A negative made by our very own Leon featured in "The printer's art"; a review of a new self-assembly "flat-pack" 4x5 camera of the non-folding "wide" style from Camera Bellows (unfortunately, not anywhere on their web site that I can see); the first of a series on producing Bromoils, plus the usual high quality portfolios...

Another winner from Ailsa and her team.

Cheers, Bob.

I do wish you guys would stop telling us what surprises are in store in the mag before the rest of us have bought it! It's like being told the end of the film before you've seen it.

I've only just received the March issue (a whole month later than you guys in the UK)... you would think Holland was very far away from the UK. And yes, I _am_ a subscriber.

Looking forward to the April issue already! I have recently started to investigate the bromoil technique, and now Ailsa comes up with information about it. That's great.

Subscribe Andy, it's cheaper.

B&W

I am going to, but I plan on moving house this year, so I don't want to start any new subscriptions because my address will be changing not long after beginning the subscription.

Anne,
Off topic, and you may already have found these sites, but if not they have Bromoil information.

I just "discovered" it as of the March issue. Great magazine, better than most of our domestic stuff.

My March issue arrived yesterday. Great magazine, I only wish it were faster crossing the North Sea!

Norway is MUCH further away than Holland, Ole!
Guess us continentals just have to be patient...

I'm already looking forward to the April issue, so bring it on GMC!

It could be worse, we still have the February issue on the magazine shelves.

AGAIN?!!!

Okay, there's something fishy going on here... I reckon Leon's bribing Ailsa or something! I mean what are we supposed to believe; that our esteemed editor is deliberately seeking out excellent photography?!

Oh...

Yes, I suppose that would sort of explain it...

Erm...

I'll get my coat...

:D

(At the risk of being repetitive, congrats mate!)

Looks as though I have been let down by the postal authorities. Have not received mine yet and I am only a few miles away from GMC !

That’s right, along with three other intrepid Apuggers, Phill, Tony, and of course Les. Happy days.

That's great Dave. I love your infrared work, I'll be looking for the magazine.

Thanks for the compliment, however in this instance we were working under the direction of Les Mclean. So infrared did not feature.

Strange that there is an article about the bulldog DIY camera in B&W and in View Camera. Presumably they sent out a press-release some time earlier this year?

I shall hold back from commenting on the different approach to it's assembly from the UK contributor and the one in the USA.

Ok, I'm sure I will enjoy it just the same. I'll go look at the bookstore at lunch time to see if the March issue is in yet.

Send the usual viking longboat and borrow Dave Miller's copy. It's probably still possible to get up to his East Midlands Monochrome Group at Earls Barton by the river Nene from the North Sea.
