Jeez, I was so dissapointed when unwrapping 7 rolls for EI testing.. I had two out of the 7 that came out of the package rolled loosely so were exposed to light.. I tossed em. Anyone experience this problem? I figure if this is common, I might as well spend the extra money to get the branded ones. The way they are taped down isn't even straight so I have to make my own crease so it'll hold on to the spool.. gah..

Call Freestyle and tell them. The one time I had trouble with them it was due to UPS losing a shipment of film. I called after the film hadn't arrived after a week (it was UPS ground) and they [Freestyle] sent another order out overnight no charge and let me keep the order that came another 2 weeks! later.

I say call their customer service and ask for a manager. Tell him about the film and how you would like to use it but worry for sake of wasting more money on haphazardly rolled 120--if he's a manager worth his salt then he'll send out a couple more rolls of 120 to you free of charge.

note: I just looked on their website and they don't have the 400 speed arista.edu listed for sale anymore. Maybe there were too many problems like this and for the moment they are not selling it--or it could be related to Forte's problems and they are out of stock.

Jeremy, the sales supervisor I have corresponded with informed me that their supply issues for the EDU line are due to Forte's problems.

Andy, just go to B&H and order the Fortepan. It's the same stuff, and I've had good luck with the 200asa. I remember when it was available in 100/200/400/800. At that time the only 800 speed bw film around. These days Neopan 3200 fills the bill for low light and fne grain.

Got some Fortepan and the Arista EDU in a couple of camera now, running comparisons. Will use Rodinal (as these films LOVE it).

Good luck,
