Ho hum!

For some bizarre reason I can't seem to post a poll at the moment. If you could vote by appending messages to this thread I'll do a tally on or around the 27th April 2005. The options are:

  • Flat Stanley
  • Macro
  • Puns
  • Nature reclaiming man's works
  • The Alphabet

Okay, the theme for this Challenge is officially - Macro!

Contrary to previous announcements this challenge will run until June 30th at which time we will be adopting a new quarterly format.

All the best,

Frank

A good excuse to exercise the new 25mm/3.5 Luminar (and maybe to see how my old Canon FD 35/2.8 Macrophoto does on 4x5"--on the groundglass it looks better than the Luminar).

The 28 you now have a good excuse to buy

All a reversing ring does (except for placing the smallest thing on the correct side of the lens, of course) is increase the lens extension. So a shorter lens gives larger magnification.

Then again there are modifications: deep lensmounts (especially WA), odd designs (the newer, the odder), and zooms which throw every attempt a guessing right out the window..

Andy From your new avatar I see you've been spending too much time in the Ebay Collectibles

Frank I promise to try and get the May photo posted by the deadline, I've only just posted the April one (sorry) :D

GaussianNoise - Thanks mate. If there's one thing I am, it's stubborn! :D

AndyK - As many as you wish to post (in colour or B&W). It's not a competition. The Challenge is to shoot the chosen theme in a way that satisfies YOU (which could be a single shot, a few shots, a panel, or something else). I look forward to seeing your contribution.

Tony - No worries! The deadlines are just to give us a little focus (no pun intended!). As long as it gets us out, shooting, trying new things and above all ENJOYING IT, then the Challenge is fulfilling its brief.
