Good Day all, If you are sending prints for the APUG show from out of country you need to put a value of $10.00 or less on the package. If you place a higher value on the customs form customs is going to apply a duty to the shipment.
Your best bet is to send the print as a gift with a value $0.00.
Bob at elevator has been getting hit with the duty as a COD charge and has had to refuse one package because the duty on the declared value was 125.00.
I apologize for not anticipating this and I'm really sorry for the poor bloke who sent his prints on a round trip to Toronto.
Actually John, you cannot put a value of $0.00. Canada Customs might not accept that as a legitimate value and might deny entry of the print or delay the delivery of the print until they inspect it and assess a legitimate value. I put anything from $10 for unmounted/unmatted, $25 for mounted/matted and $50 for framed 8x10 prints.
The main point is that you label the item a GIFT.

Sorry, did not know about customs charges when I sent in a bunch of prints before the official rules were announced. I marked it as gift, but with actual wholesale price for the prints. I can reimburse Bob for the additional charges, if needed. Perhaps the extra prints not going in the show could be auctioned off for APUG/expenses after the conference...
