Is anyone familiar with the Schneider Variogon 140-280mm zoom for the Hasselblad?
I have been eyeing this up for some time as I could sell my 250mm Sonnar and refrain from buying a 150mm sonnar (which I am thinking of buying for portraits)
I saw one in a shop the other day and handled it - I was amazed how 1. huge it is; and 2. light it is!
A work of art to behold -
But has anyone used one?
I know they are rare. The one I saw was up for £950.
I shot about 6 rolls of film through one a couple of years ago as a test when I was liquidating an estate, I was very impressed, for a zoom, it was a great lens, and I am sure you would be very happy with the results.
They come with shutter for 500 series, or without shutter for focal plane shutter cameras (2000?)
I'm not supried not many people have used this lens because it is pretty rare.
Thanks Satinsnow, nice to hear.
Just need to find the cash now! - I know of one for say for £750, so than slashes £200 of the price of the other one. I rekon my 250 Sonnar is worth 300 - 400, so that would mean it is justifyable as a 150 Sonnar would be around the 300 mark.
