I just purchased (on e**y) what appears to be a Quickset Samson tripod for a really low price. What little I could find indicates these are very well made but heavy tripods. I intend to use this at home or close to the vehicle so I'm not worried about the weight. But does anybody have any experience with one of these ?

TIA

Hi Jeff. My "normal" tripod is a 3021/3047 Bogen but I carry an old Samson and a step stool around when I need to work 8 feet in the air.

Treading water ever since I got home. Even if I do get caught up later in the week I think I'll go do color in E. Sierras. Mossbrae falls was awesome. jg

Hello:

I was given one and checked the specs - rated at 25#!

It's missing the tilt handle, but I'll make one when I need it.
