Has anyone seen the Ansel Adams exhibit at the Bellagio in Las Vegas?

I get to go there on business next week. I hope to catch a peek.

I'm going.

You guys mind if I tag alongwith you? My SO and I get to the DIA at least a couple times a month for movies, I'm sometimes a member and I think she always is.

In either case, I'm going.

On rare days, where I live feels far, far away from anywhere else

The rest of the time, I'm in my happy place

Hi All,

It's March 3rd, Saturday. Show opens tomorrow. I won't be going tomorrow, but *will* be going next w/e sometime.

Anybody else? Will be my g/f and me, she enjoys art & photography also.

I saw a preview of the show yesterday and was impressed. Much older and less celebrated work. A very nicely done exhibit. I couldn't help but think how far landscape work has come over the years. Enjoy.

Bill,

Reads like a very interesting topic. Could you and others with that knowledge talk a bit about the changes from your perspective?

I listened with great interest to Alan Ross talk last summer at the View Camera conference about continuing the AA prints and how Ansel never made a straight print. Of course no one makes a completely straight print. It is modified by exposure time, filter, dodge & burn, paper selection, etc.. He went on to show us the variety of techniques used by AA and then more recent digital (may lightning not strike) manipulation.

Thanks,

John Powers

George Eastman House is running a show on AA right now, over the holiday.

PE

and The Cleveland Institute of Art through August 19th. The ghost of poor Ansel must be worn out running back and forth.
