Only 40 spots, and $150 a spot. Keeble and Schuchat has organized a photographic outing, where 40 photographers (and rangers) will be the only people on the island from 3:30 to 9pm. It doesn't get much better. if you want a spot, i'd call quickly.. they just opened up, and i suspect they'll be going quickly.

at the bottom of the page... clicking on it will bring up a more detailed pdf file.

It says hosted by Nikon.. but i wouldn't worry about that.. there are at least people i know (jack flesher and myself) who will have 4x5, 8x10 and 11x14 between us.

That would be so cool! I've been there with a 35 mm and would love to take LF there. It's doubtful I can make it though.

Alcatraz is a neat place. And it's neat to have a camera store that will organize outings like this. Youse guys in the Bay Area are so lucky!

Ah too bad I can't go; my father had two cousins who "vacationed" there during the Depression when not robbing banks. That would be a fun trip...

i just got back from a drive up the west coast, and i have to say that alcatraz offered the most unique lighting.

3:30 to 9:30 seems a short window. I guess it is packed with tourists otherwise?
