I think it missed it's 'calling'. I think it would be a fine choice for making portraits on 8X10, not aerial mapping for bombing strafe's. The reason I say that is because it has a very soft contrast character. Sharp, but with lovely easy contrast. This may have been an early coating candidate, but if it was, it's only partly there at this point. Glass surfaces are lovely, but coatings or whatever is mottled some. When you get it you'll say, heck, it's better than Jim made it sound. Not that bad. But not perfect. Cheap enough to have a play with it. $185 Lens board not included. Flange area does not unscrew (if it ever did). Aperture is silky perfect.
