Does anyone know where to pick this stuff up in 120 other than Ebay or Lomography? Both of those stores charge incredible prices for outdated rolls and I am not into being extorted, especially by Lomography. Regardless, what is a film that mimics the look of this stuff? I want to try a roll out.

Can you shoot 220? I have some of the film stored in deep freeze and could be talked out of a roll or two for trying.

I made a living shooting the Agfa... 16 or 17 years ago ! Wonderful film. I was set up for Agfa,
but I could have done identical work with either Kodak or Fuji.

Today's Kodak 160 NC or Fuji NPS are equal or better in every respect than that great, old Agfa film.

I can't make any comments about Agfa 160 Portrait. What I can tell you is that Kodak Portra 160 NC is absolutely beautiful stuff, is in production, and is reasonably priced.

I used to love that stuff, it had a special quality that made all your portraits and wedding shots look like Rembrandt's , I shot some close friends wedding with it, and they're still knocked out with it seventeen years later, sadly all good things must come to an end, I now use Fuji Pro 160S or 400 Z

I agree wholeheartedly about 160nc. I live on that stuff (and 400vc). I have seen a few shots from the agfa though that just look wild and I want to try it out. 220 is a possibility, I will PM you.

I can't quantify the quality s that Agfa Portra 160 had, but it was an extraordinary portrait film Kodak Porta 160 and Fuji Pro 160 are excellent films, but as I write I'm looking at some prints I shot of both my sons graduations on the Agfa film printed on Agfa paper, and it had something neither of them have.

I used the Agfa 160 when I was a wedding photographer, it had a soft tonal rendition and almost no underexposure latitude.
What you could do is overexpose and you'd get porcelain skin tones under the right lighting even blemishes would be softened slightly.
I think the closest tonally would be 160NC Portra.

Some of us miss AGFA color paper a great deal.

Running any 'portrait' film through a Frontier or other scanner-printer will surely give identical results.

Brilliant film, I used to shoot it at 125, full daylight, flash fill and the highlights of bright wedding dresses were always held in, beautiful skin tones. Not the same as NC160, softer contrast in the highlights and like mentioned above, no shadow latitude. I can get reasonably close by shooting NC160 and softening things up in curves, but that Agfa stuff remains a unique film. Still have a few rolls around, got lots when they discontinued it and froze it. Another overlooked great was the Agfa 200 in 120 size, 35 was a bit grainy but fun, great wonderful palette of tones, great fall film. Sigh, them was good times...

You still have a few rolls of 160 in 120? Man I would wait for a paying job to shoot that stuff....If the look looks like I think it will look then I think that is what I might do. This was a confusing post.
