What is the best developer for Agfa 80S film? I usually use X-Tol or HC-110

I've just developed my first roll. It was rated at 80 and developed in X-tol 1:1. Turned out fine.

It's excellent in Rodinal rated at 50. I do 14' w/ 2 inversions every 2' & 30" initial.

This film doesn't get the attention it deserves.

What's that for a film? Rollei Retro 80S?

It works well in 120 too. Maybe a bit overkill in terms of grain & sharpness, but then there is also tonality.

Thanks for the above replies. Has anyone used HC-110 with Agfa Rollei Retro 80S. If so at what dilution and for how long.
Or with the Rodinal at what dilution and for how long.

Hello thanks for reply. I'm not sure what EI 50 means. Also I assume 12min w/2 inversions every 3 mins. and 30 seconds inversions initially?
Could you clarify the mixing dilution from the concentrate. I want to make sure I get it right, don't want to spoil the film which I shot with my Hasselblad and hoping for some good images.

I'm not sure what EI 50 means.

I use this film at an Exposure Index of 50 instead of 80, otherwise the shadows go a bit dark.

Yes. This should be a good starting point for you and your Hasselblad.

You take 1 part of Rodinal for every 50 parts of water. So for one 120 film you use (for example) 600 ml of water and 600/50= 12 ml of Rodinal.

Ok thanks so much. I have already shot the film at 80 so will try this and see what happens. Thanks for clarifying.
