I've just bought some Adox films to try, the 125 is a repackaged FP4+ and develops great in Ilfosol (I don't want to try a new developer until I'm really competent with this one) but I have no info on Adox 25 (even on digital truth). I believe it is basically Efke 25 but cannot find information on this with Ilfosol either. Anyone agree that 7 minutes at 1+9 with Ilfosol would be a good starting point ?

Advice, as always, much appreciated.

Have you contacted J&C Photo to see if they have any advice? It is the same film as the Efke branded film. One of the many reasons I don't use Ilfosol is that there is little information available for things like this.

You liked the result Ilfosol-S gives with FP4 Plus, Efke (Adox) 100 is, for our purpose, the same as FP4 Plus.

Step 1. Google Ilfosol-S and download Ilford's Ilfosol-S PDF file (which contains their developing recommendations for various fims.

Step 2. Ilford recommend developing FP4 Plus (rated at 125) for 6min,30 sec at 20C in the 1+9 dilution of Ilfosol-S.

Step 3. Pan F Plus (rated at 25) should be pretty close to Efke/Adox 25.

Step 4. From the Ilford data my estimate for Pan F Plus (rated at 25) is about 4min 30sec to 5min at 20C for the 1+9 dilution of Ilfosol-S. I would use this as a starting point for developing Efke/Adox 25 in Ilfosol-S

After developing a test roll, If you find that your shadow details are underexposed, rate the film speed at 12 instead of 25 and develop it for 6 min (instead of 4:30 to 5 min) at 20 C.

Efke/Adox developing recommendations (with various developers) can be found here:

I started using adox/efke 25 since fall and have switched to it full time. I've been impressed with the results I get with fx-2

Here is something I don't understand.
Why increase devtime when downrating the film from 25 to 12 ISO ?
And BTW. EFKE and ADOX 25 is the same film.

I thikn that 1+14 dilution will work better by giving you longer del times, thus better control
I'd expose a roll and bracket +2,+1,0,-1,-2 and develop for 7.5 or 8 minutes in 1+14
and check the one for the best shadow detail, thus finding your personal speed.
