Well, I got my SWC/M in the mail last week, ran a roll of film through it, and it's totally blank, except for about an inch of fog from apparently rolling too much manually before putting the filmback on the body.

I remembered to take the darkslide holder out, that much I know. But what in the world did I do incorrectly?!

And now, I can't even figure out how to detach the filmback to see if the aperture is working! I'll need to take it in to the shop for a looksee anyway, to make sure it's working properly, but I'd like to have some film processed ASAP so that I can determine whether the camera meets my needs [or maybe we should go in to psychotherapy to discuss them at length] before my time runs out for returning it.

Oh...I bought it through KEH, listed in Ex+ condition, so it should be fine mechanically.

Well, I have no idea about your camera, but when I got my Hasselblad, I blew my first roll because I rolled it on backward... with the paper covering the film. Hello!!!

What camera is this? Do you have a manual for it (I downloaded a manual, which is how I dicovered the error of my ways.) ?

No, they didn't have a manual. From where did you download your manual? That would be handy.

I rolled it correctly, with the paper out. Other ideas?

Remove the mag.
1) insert darkslide
2) slide button top of mag to the left, it should be in your hand, unless you've dropped it.

I have to ask. Did you take the lens cap off?

How are you focusing it?

There is no lens cap; focus is manual, but it's not that the photos were blurry--just blank!

Ya, I tried that, but it didn't work. The repair guy said that if the corners of the darkslide are bent at all, the mag won't come off. So that must be it. He also went through the other things with me & said I'd done those correctly, so the problem likely is that the shutter isn't opening. I'll take it in & find out. Thanks!
