Hi Martin, welcome to APUG.

Singapore is a great place, I visited there back in the 80s. Are you also a member of toXpose? They have a large Singaporian member group.

Andy.

Thank you very much arigram! I'd be happy to chat with u guys at the chatroom.

You're right! The TLR image in my avatar is the one I'm currently using for all of my night photography. I have this long-term B&W photographic project going on for almost 2 years now. Here's one of the night shots I did for yr viewing pleasure:

Lurking...

I do own 3 TLRs with the other two for day shoot like landscape and portraitures respectively. I'm also into Street Photography, Nature/Landscape, Night & Nocturne and Portraitures (Outdoors & Studio). I shoot both in color & monochrome. Oh! I shoot digitally too but only for freelance jobs like actual day wedding & corporate events. For personal work, I go for films.

For Street Journalism Photography, I use my Seagull 205 Rangefinder which I love to use it. It has a fixated 50mm lens with the widest aperture of f2.8. At times I use my Nikon FM10 with 50mm f1.8D prime lens. I shoot on Ilford FP4 Plus & Kodak Tmax100/400. Here's another street shot I did in January:

I really like the top photograph. The second one is good journalism but a bit "straight" as a photograph. Why don't you post them in the galley?
Oh, right. You have to be a subscriber for the gallery and the chatroom... Why not be one then? You seem like someone that would be active in this siteand would be nice to have around.

Hi Andy!

Yes I am a member of toXpose as I started out photography playing with LOMO cameras and Holga as well.

You should come and visit Singapore again. It has changed a whole lot in all these years. Standard of living is higher now. There are more tourist attractions.

Btw are you a member of toXpose too?

I was, I ended up leaving about nine months or so ago. Too many digital people slamming me for being pro-film.

I will visit Singapore again one day. I liked it when it was just Singapore, the real Singapore. I enjoyed eating with the local people on those floating food stalls down by the harbour, not far from where the Merlion statue used to be. Near Kavanagh Bridge I think. I have attached three shots I took on my visit, if I remember correctly the camera was a Ricoh compact, an XF 30 I think.

Ah...! Those were the good old days! It's really good to see the old Singapore in yr images. Things are changing real fast here. With the 2-years old plus music & art performing center, The Esplanade situated right opposite the new Merlion location. A new bridge road was built right across Singapore River, linking The Esplanade to The Merlion statue.

The image you took of Kavanagh Bridge, is still there. Right across the bridge on the left side (based on yr foto), is the Fullerton One Hotel. The building on the right was gone & new one rebuilt. Here's the image of the hotel & the bridge at night:

The night sceneries are getting better & colorful. If you come during the festive season i.e. Christmas period, the city is lit up with colorful lights and everyone will gather around and take memorable pictures. Well I can't show you any such beautiful pictures but here's one located near Kavanagh Bridge:

Hello Martin, and welcome.

Hello Dave! Thank you for yr warm welcome.

I've visited yr personal website and I'm really impressed by yr series of infra-red monographs. Infra-red photography is something I've not yet venture into and as a B&W enthusiasist, I certainly appreciate the efx it produces. Your landscape images have this dreamy mood and I like it.

Your B&W series are just as good as yr IR ones.
