Sometimes listings show up this way as kind of an unofficial auction. Not exactly playing by the rules. Bet seller could put a number on it. Just saying.

It would also be nice to see photos of each piece of the kit, the camera opened up showing all sides for starters.

He must think this is Craigslist.............

Also, I'm a little suspicious of the S/N. I think that they went up to around #6000's in 1986, then sold. And I don't think there were thousands more made after that date. And if it's one of Barry's, I'd pass.

P.S.........Just checked out LFP and there was a post from 1999 saying #6503 was made in 1989 and was the last one............................caveat emptor.

Perhaps we should cut him a little slack. He is a digital shooter and only joined yesterday. If he is reading these post he will probably figure out he needs to put a price on his gear and provide some more digital pictures to give potential buyers an idea of what he has and its condition.

I have #553 they started numbering them at 500 with the first front swing version.
Last fall I broke my ankle, and due to my non ambulatory stste the camera spent the winter in an unheated shed. I was afraid to look at it, but it was fine, focussing racks move the same as ever, bellows - original - ok, just amazing the stability of the wood they used. I wish I'd had the forsight to get a 4x5 Special as well.

Naah... It makes sense to ask even when you can afford it. Sometimes prices are unrealistic and the same thing can be had for less.
