Can anyone advise me as to the availability of 70mm film, preferably reversal. I have checked several of the main retailers in the UK, both amateur and pro. without success. Any info. would be much appreciated.

Regards - Allan Swindles.

I've looked into this as well. I guess there's a reason that those beautiful Linhof Cine-Rollex backs are so cheap these days. I don't think there are any color reversal films available in 70mm--just aerial films and color neg for portraits. Check bhphoto.com, and you should find most of what's out there. If you wanted B&W reversal, you could consult with dr5.com and find a film that's available and that they can run.

I use a lot of 70mm film, both colour neg and B&W. It's hard to get and limited emulsions, reversal is even more difficult. Colour neg Portra readily available, also Konica 160. B&W neg you have to order a run from the manufacturer, not cheap.

The panorama cameras I use consume a lot film per rotation, I think this is one of the last serious uses for the film as the portrait guys are now using digital.

It's also getting hard to find labs that will process it, I do my own and you may have to do the same.
