Very Cool.
What would be the working distance from the subject if you were doing a normal half length portrait?

Wow, those people next to it must be awfully short.....a camera couldn't possibly be that big... I will have to say, though, that is the first "tripod" I've seen with storage! Amazing. I'd love to see Rob coat a plate that big!

Rob, as I'm sure you know, a lot depends upon the lens. With the two we mounted on that camera, a portrait distance for a bust is about 4 feet away.

Thanks all for the kind words. I have actually got to get started on another just like it heading to Kansas.

Ty's cameras are indeed works of art -- no question.

When I win that lottery this week, this is one of the first phone calls I'm gonna make.

Can you make the same camera with a back for regular film?

Rob, I don't know. Yes I reckon I could and get with S&S about a filmholder. A film version could possibly be made lighter as the frame doesn't have to support a huge glass plate.

Andrew, all the cameras that I make are for wet plate collodion, so they are DIY plates, either metal or glass.
