Hi All,

Our volunteer moderator team (David A. Goldfarb, Jd Callow, and Ole) do a GREAT job and are instrumental in the day to day running of APUG. They truly deserve a salary but unfortunately this is not possible yet.

In the meantime I thought maybe some members would like to make a small donation to them as a thank you and a holiday gift. I've included a paypal button to this post which will donate $5.00US (and produce a flag in my account so I can keep track). I will let this run until New Years, post the final amount, then close the thread and split the donations between them. I will be putting in $150.00 to get things rolling. With any luck the guys will have enough for a nice dinner out & some left over for film

Feel free to post a note in this thread stating you have contributed.

Here is the paypal button to click:

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Thanks!

Sean

Well, I'm in and I do appreciate what they do, but I hope Sean will council them, when he distributes this, not to squander it on liquor, camera equipment or other dangerous drugs.
Happy Holidays.

I've added to the fund but mine is conditional

1. David buys some nappies/diapers. He's gonna need them!
2. Ole buys some reinforcement for his table to keep all his lenses on!
3. Mr Callow buys some wax for his moustache tips as they're looking a bit ragged

Happy holidays guys and thanks for the work

Cheers

Phill

Great idea. If they were in one place we could buy 'em all a beer as well. Hope to meet you folks some day. Until then, THANKS!

Done!

Merry Christmas Guys! I wish that I could do more, but times are tight this year... Even GAS means to sell one thing to get another! I run a local website with forum and understand and sincerely appreciate the work that goes into making something popular on the net work efficiently. Keep up the good work!!!

The tip jar is a great idea and these guys deserve it. That said, I think next year you should make available a list of all deleted posts for sale. Collect 'em all year long, scrub 'em from identification, and then offer to sell them for $15.00 a crack with proceedes to be split by the moderators! Kinda like an evil bake sale...

My super powers allow me to read most deleted posts. They'd be worth a small fortune.

Thank you to everyone and especially Sean. This is a great place to hang out and, trust me, when I tell you it is going to get better in the months ahead.

I'd send them $500 each, but they'd probably just fritter it away on something frivolous, like diamonds....

I'll invest it in old wine and older lenses instead.

Old stuff doesn't depreciate - A lens originally sold in London in 1910 for the princely sum of £10 was bought by myself in 2005 for - £10.

I suspected this would happen. Give these guys some cash and they blow it on the liquor and the first piece of brass that comes their way!

Thanks, folks. We've been doing this without any expectation of financial return, but Melchior will certainly find a use for any cash sent his way. Lumps of coal he will no doubt figure out how to parlay into carbon prints.

Thanks above all to Sean for keeping this place running!
