I bought an M645 w 80mm f/2.8, 120 back and prism finder. It was in much better condition than described and of course I am excited to have it.
I got out today and shot a roll of TriX400.
I am really pleased with the sharpness and contrast of this lens!
Here are a few shots. Also i accidently scan one of the neagtives as a "color negative" and it came out almost like a sepia toned print...

Looks like you have made a good choice here in buying the Mamiya. As an aside, I have been reading Tim Rudman's Toning book and I bet Tim would know a way to duplicate your "colour" shot. It's truly amazing what can be done with toning.

I wish I could get my hands on a copy. I'm not willing to pay the prices that people want on the used market.

Those look great. Very nice bonus having the camera in better shape than you expected. I love my 645 pro. All my other cameras are feeling quite neglected since I got it.

I bought mine on the U.K. ebay from a Powerseller( that is a business as opposed to an individual selling a few items) and probably paid too much in comparison with Amazon who put secondhand sellers and buyers in touch with each other by acting as the middleman. Most of the better and cheaper photographic books on Amazon U.K. come from the U.S. so it surprises me that Tim Rudmand's Toning book should be expensive on the secondhand market.

I take it that you have looked at Amazon U.S.?

The U.K powerseller was Rainham Cameras who sell on the books and magazines section of photography. I think they probably sell to the U.S. If Amazon U.S. or Amazon U.K doesn't have a copy then you could keep a watch on Rainham Cameras.

It is well worth getting a copy if toning is something that you really want to get into.

I just bought two Mamiya M645. I am yet to use them but I am thrilled. One came with 80mm, and the other 80mm Macro. I'm going to pick up 45mm lens and eith a 105-210 or 150mm.

Those Mamiya lenses are sharp alright. I feel like I could cut myself on the image when focusing mine.

I have a 645AFD with one normal lens and an el cheapo ultrawide that does a decent job. I'd like to get more lenses but can't afford it. I'd have to sell my entire Bronica kit to buy one.

I purchased my M645Pro a year or so ago, to replace 35mm negs for me. My main camera remains Rolleiflex TLR w/Planar, though. It's taken me the better part of the year to find a film/developer combination to give me something close to the Planar quality, and have found the Rollei R³ with Amaloco 74 the perfect choice.

The sharpness of the film makes up for the non-Zeiss performance of the Sekor, and the grain is ultra fine. Of course, the Rollei films (from the former Agfa R&D lab in Belgium) are just about the finest films on the market, and well worth the extra cost.

All of the EK films have left me wanting with this camera, while the standard Tri-X does very well in the Rollei.

With the Mamiya, I've got a 45/80/150 and a 35 wide will be next, then that should do me.

I discovered yesterday that the M645, 80mm f2.8 lens does not focus close like the RB67 90 mm does. Of course I do not have the advantage of the bellows like the RB.
I was trying to do some tight shots of a violin scroll and shell that nature has made in the spiral pattern. The M645 w/80mm lens could not focus close enough. I had to go to my D300 to get the shots I needed.
