Sir
Can a 180mm enlarging lens be used for 4x5 enlarging? If so, what are the disadvantages?

It can be used provided your enlarger has enough bellows extension to allow it. Not all 4X5 enlargers will accomodate that focal length since it is primarily a lens used for enlarging 5X7 negatives.

The disadvantages are that there will be limitations on large print sizes.

There will probably be no noted advantages to the use of a 180 mm for use on 4X5 over those of a good 150 mm lens.
