FreeStyle Photographic has secured and order of 11x14 TriX. The order will be placed in the next week. The plan is to have some film for stock but not that much. If you feel that you can not live without it then, talk to John Richardson in the store or contact the order desk for order placement.

Ouch !!! That's high but such a fabulous film---sure there are those jumping on the TMax 400 bandwagon here but I'll take Tri-X any day over TMax 400--just personal preference and limited use with TMax 400. Hmm! you guys are gonna break me!! Oops I'm already past that!! I may have to stock up on that fine film--just don't tell my better half and hide that CC bill. Thanks for the tip!!

I e-mailed John Richardson when you first announced it, and he said he would contact me again when they were ready to accept orders. I haven't heard back yet.

The information came out friday, John was out of the store then he still may not know. But it is going to happen. 120 boxes of the order are already spoken for. They will stock a small amount over the total order, but that is it.

Actually for Tri-X over TMax I consider it not bad at all--I was just throwing in my 2 cents--I have no interest in TMax 400 in 11x14 but Tri_X is whole different story or is that whole different film? Who exactly/specifically do I need to contact? I swear I have some out of date TMax 100 in 11x14 around here somewhere along with some old EktaPan in 11x14---Haven't tried the TMax100 (in 11x14) but the old EktaPan is fabulous--way out of date but the results are great!! A Beautiful portrait film!!

I also have some past date Ektapan in 11x14". Beautiful film, especially for Hollywood style lighting.

I was also holding out for Tri-X in 11x14", not being a fan of either HP5+ or TMY. Any idea why they can't sell it in boxes of 25 sheets?

I think the person that counts the orders can only do it in base ten. The Tmax order that just finished started out as 25 sheet boxes and is now 10 sheet boxes.

Ok try this one, Kodak has a bunch of 10 sheet boxes they want to get rid of (and when they do that willbe the end of film)?????? Just be thankful that we can get the film. Storage is going to be a PITA.

I understand that SEARS has a few small freezers, my wife looked at one and said that it looked like the right size, then she looked at me and said no get the bigger one???

50 boxes should make about 8 tables with a couple boxes to spare...

Look into the cast resin tables that were popular in the late 1960s or so. My grandma had one, it had a thick clear resin top, then a layer with a bunch of "stuff" cast in (in this case, seashells and white crushed marble, contoured to look like the seabed in a tropical locale). I'm sure you could do the same with film boxes, maybe even sell the resulting tables...

Actually 11x14" film boxes are handy for storing sensitized albumen paper before exposure and between exposure and toning, but even for that a few of them will do. That leaves 45 more boxes. I guess you could ship prints mounted to 11x14" in them.

Unfortunately, while it appeared that we would be able to secure 25 sheet packaging on the TMY deal, Kodak seems to be fixated on 10 sheet boxes so we have to work with it.

One alternative might be to see if one box will hold two 10 sheet black plastic film containers. Another would be to transfer 10 seets of film into one plastic sheath to hold 20 sheets. Either option if it would work would eliminate 50% of the space.

Can anyone that has previously received 10 sheet film packaging from Kodak provide us with some experience on this subject?

I would love to have the over sized sheet film box contract with Kodak.

The Kodak boxes will hold two of the black envelopes full of film. I have a bunch of 10x12 Tri-X whose volume is exactly half of the previous volume. I spent 15 minutes in the darkroom and now have a stack of empty yellow boxes.
