Hello all,

I'm in the NZ/Aus area ('Oceania' ?) - anyways, I'd like to shoot some color 11x14"

No one can process larger than 8x10" in color in NZ without a reasonable guarantee of success - in other words, they refuse to try, and fair enough .

Where can I get this done ? Preferably local but any suggestions are appreciated ...

Am I going to be sending my film off to the US, Japan ? Maybe London ? (I am in London about once a year on average) - Europe ?

Any help appreciated,
Cheers,
Nick

I've had it done at Duggal in New York. They have 11x14" racks for their dip and dunk lines. They don't list it in their standard services, but if you ask, they'll do it, and the charge is not unreasonable, compared to their other sheet film rates. I think it was something like a bit more than $6 or $8 a sheet when I last had it done a couple of years ago.

Try Dead Link Removed here in Sydney (he comes here too sometimes). He can definitely do 8x10, but I'm not sure about 11x14...

Nick the easiest way is set up a processor and do it yourself at home. I shoot odd sizes that no one here will process so I do them myself. Once you're up and running any exotic size makes no difference and you can process any time you want, day or night.

Do you have an 11x14 camera? I think I have a box of Efke not doing much, I bought it to cut down but now have the proper size film for my camera.

Yes - for the E6 a colleague has a Jobo but he is incommunicado somewhere in the deepest darkest jungles of West Africa ('Bong County', Liberia, ha ha) - so anyway, I'd feel a little rude breaking into his house to get it - reckon if I go that route I'd have it up and running by maybe Feb next year

A Jobo drum in a CPE2 which can do print or film as I understand it. I've done two 8x10's in the same one in the past, pretty sure it can do one 11x14" with the little clippy thingies set up in the right spot.

The Lighthouse Lab has not closed, The Lease on Bondi did end and I took the opportunity to move to lane cove where I will be able to expand my abilities in such areas as 50" ilfochrome mural printing, Film recording up to 8x10", more frequent scala processing etc I also intend to pursue my own photographic works a lot more.

I am able to process 11x14" and other unusual sizes in E-6, C-41, B&W and Scala via dip and dunk however there is some set up involved and I would not do it as a single sheet run. The Lighthouse Lab now runs by appointment only. My website is www.thelighthouselab.com

didn't steven close his lab? I think he let the lease run.

HERE: found it..

sad to see this

Hi Stephen,

I've been in contact with Sandra and have a good idea of what I can get done - nice to know people down this neck of the woods keeping the formats alive !

hey Stephen,

great to hear! My grandma is up in the Blue Mtns, just outside of sydney. I was planning a trip down there sometime in the next year or so, and shooting 4x5 would be nice, especially to be able to still get film processed down there while I'm there.

Hello Tsuyoshi,

I had an idea that it might be available in Japan. Seems like a lot of interesting things go on over there but for whatever reason is somewhat isolated at least in terms of the international online community (APUG!).

What films are they using - Fuji stocks ? And where is it obtained ?

Just got a Jobo CPA2 (with Lift) a few large assorted drums, at least one one set up can do 4 x 8x10" - heaps of clips so I'm sure an 11x14" will get in there, a 16x20" even I guess - anyways a trillion bottles and abandoned darkroom shrapnel ...

and a Tetenal E6 kit for $300US

happy
