    Not Recommended...But I'm Trying It...

I always mix bags of chemical for the complete package for numerous reasons such as chemicals settling out instead of staying homogeneously mixed. I talked to PE about this and he agreed that one should mix complete packages and store in sealed bottles. I always test all developers before...

Hasselblad SWC anything to watch out for?

Buying my Hasselblad 903 SWC is one of the most exciting photographic expensive purchases I have made.

Hasselblad SWC anything to watch out for?

I would use a tripod for the SWC when shooting star trails. And the same for the 30mm Fisheye lens. [Must keep up G.A.S. pressure]

Hasselblad SWC anything to watch out for?

I cannot ever remember using my SWC on a tripod. I love using it handheld. When I was in the Greek Islands I used the SWC 80% of the time, the 50mm was used the rest of the time. The 80mm enjoyed the trip as ballast.

In the third voyage of Gulliver's Travels comes to mind: On Gulliver’s third voyage he is set adrift by pirates and eventually ends up on the flying island of Laputa. The people of Laputa all have one eye pointing inward and the other upward, and they are so lost in thought that they must be...

Hasselblad SWC anything to watch out for?

I do not understand the need for sheet film on a Hasselblad and I do not have experience with it. When I buy a film back without a darkslide holder, I immediately order a Lindahl darkslide holder. Otherwise I misplace darkslides or damage them.

Better III with a wider lens?

35mm is just not wide enough to make it worth having. It is just too close to 50mm. I could just step back about 10 feet and get the same thing. 28mm is wide enough that it is useful but not so wide that one has to keep it level to avoid distortion. For 35mm cameras I like the 20mm lens but...

Hasselblad SWC anything to watch out for?

I attach a tripod quick release attachment to put it on a tripod. I rarely have to use a tripod, but if I use the attachment plate and my 45 degree PME prism if I need good precision and sharp focus for very close objects. I have no experience with the sheet film holder on any Hasselblad.

I always keep my eye on the bubble level, it is important to minimize the distortion.

I too add the darkslide keeper on my film backs. I do not have the latest backs with the darkslide keeper built in.

Yes this does happen if the camera is out of adjustment. A CLA takes care of this problem.

Some have the spirit level in the viewfinder. It is important to use the spirit level to avoid distortion.

Graffiti is vandalism plain and simple. If one wants to express their feelings with cans of spray paint then get the owner's permission or find a sponsor. If one is desperate for a canvas just turn the nozzle around and spray the paint on ones own corneas.

Better III with a wider lens?

Skip the 35mm lens is too close to 50mm to make it useful, however the 28mm is far enough away from 50mm to be very useful and not so wide as to add distortions that cannot be seen with a range finder while composing and taking the photograph.

Hasselblad SWC anything to watch out for?

I have the Hasselblad 903. There are advantages to the 903 and 905 such as the level bubble is seen in the view finder therefore I recommend them. No, a cloth hood is not needed not useful. I found that I kept taking photographs with the lens cap on so I put yellow gaffers tape on the lens...

A major reason I do not use all the system. I only use the best and most practical part. Besides the compression and expansion are not practical for roll film even 6x6 on 120 film.

Ok, now you admit that Negative films have more highlight latitude than shadow latitude... rectification wellcome. ... Let me reiterate that ZS "workflow rules" are simple common sense. The spot meter serves to ensure shadows have enough exposure and that highlights don't reach excessive...

Light meters with reflective, incident and spot metering

I live in Southern California where it is common to have a Subject Brightness Range of 8 to 14 f/stops. I have gotten up to 14 f/stops on black & white and color film. The problem is not with the film, the details are there. It takes skill to get the range of the film on to paper which has 7...

    DP-11 Meter Issues

Brad pointed out his experience with the Nikon meters and I would recommend that if you find a working light meter that you then send the meter to be calibrated. When George Milton @ Quality Light Metric 7095 Hollywood Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90028 (323) 467 2265 calibrates a meter he tells you...
