It arrived today. Very nicely made. It has a a bayonet mount. When I use a pinhole lens on my Nikon SLRs I can see through the prism will enough to line up the frame and see the subject barely. I was happy that with the prism I can see the subject, barely, and see the edges of the frames...
"Stock Xtol produces identical results to replenished Xtol". I disagree. Replenished XTOL gives much better tonality, tonality smoothness, and better sharpness. Otherwise I would not go to the trouble. Stock XTOL does not produce identical results to replenished XTOL.
When I shot slides I did that. When I took slides of people skiing I got great tonality showing the shapes of the snow and everything else as too dark for detail. When I used the palm of my hand the photographs improved greatly, but the best results came when I took the palm reading and closed...
The film industry removed cadmium from film when it was deemed detrimental to rivers. Radium was removed from lenses when it was realized that it was not safe. No problems with film that cannot be overcome.
While some developers do not work if they are too cold, but it does not matter because some pull the prints when they want the development to stop. Others time the development and if there is any variability, they will adjust the exposure.
Hasselblad killed my GAS. Once I got all the Hasselblad lenses that I wanted, GAS just disappeared and never came back. Hmmm, another reason to buy Hasselblad.
I use box speed and then use the Zone System to bring out the shadow details and develop normally. Since you are not printing the photographs yourself, that will work well. Modern films no longer require changing the development times.
My first slr was the f/1.Minolta SR-7 in college. I later moved up to the SR 101, SR 201, ... X700, f/1.4 58mm, f.1.4 50mm, f/2.8 28mm and the f2.8 21mm lenses and Vivitar 70mm to 203mm zoom [which lacked the contrast of the Rokkor lenses]. Wonderful well built cameras. Real work horses.
