Successful enough that the system was widely used by photographers for over fifty years and it basic design did not need to change. If you find a need to put the camera on a tripod for all your photographs, maybe the camera is not the one at fault.
One of many reasons I chose SLRs over rangefinders and TLRs back in the 1960's and never looked back. If one is still using those and has problems with not seeing what they will get, they only have themselves to blame.
I always move the enlarger up and down multiple times as I focus to make sure that the focus is in the middle of the range of positions. Since few have the magic hands to hit the focus exactly the first time every time, I would think most people do that.
Mixing partial bags of dry chemicals can lead to problems because the powders are not uniformly distributed. I follow the instructions and put each liter in a bladder container that lets me squeeze the air completely out. I have stored XTOL for over a year without a problem.
I have sold a lot of cameras. I have talked to a number of camera owners including Leicas and I have never run into anyone with an attitude like that from any of them. When most people see someone with a camera that they do not own, they do not make condescending comments. I do not know where...
The only problem I have with printing the rebate is when I see a rebate for Kodak Tri-X on a color print or Kodak Portra 400 on a black & white print, but our on site slave trader would probably have no problem with that.
I have never gone wrong using the manufacturer's published filter factors. I have trouble with filters that are not labelled with the filter factor and I cannot find any publications. I just compare it with know filters.
I have used polarizers with color negative film to bring out the clouds on occasion, but unlike one of my friends never for every or even most photographs.
I reduced John's argument with reductio ad absurdum* and now he has had to go to outright lying to hide his embarrassment.
Now we are finally at the point we should be with ethics and standards of journalism, professional and amateur photographers.
*Reductio ad absurdum
In logic, reductio ad...
No where have I ever posted about touch ups. You are just distorting and outright lying about what I posted because you have been standing in quicksand with your hollow arguments.
I am pointing out how hollow John's arguments are an I had to stoup to his level to get the point across to him. If one is going to defend a point, use something more compelling than "well others threw bricks though your window, and that justifies me throwing more bricks now."
Doing something wrong in the past does not justify continuing to do, no matter how many times you point out that it was done in the past. Using your logic it is still justifiable to enslave people.
Nor can I see if a beaker in the lab is clean before I use it, but I check it anyway. Your comment implies that my checking or taking extra care makes me a bad person.
