The film as stated clearly above is not too contrasty. I believe that you are dealing with an Operator Assisted Failure [OAF]. OAFs have been known for years to cause undesired results. OAFs can be a real pain. Please check your area and get rid of any OAFs. That should help.
Based on what? Your PhD in Mechanical Engineering? Do you have any published technical papers that you can show us? Vast experience in camera shutter design? You cannot make such sweeping statements without some proven technical reason that you can point to.
Has anyone besides me attempted to diagram the sentences in this post? I even feed the post into sentence diagramming software and the software just barfed it back out and screamed "No More!"
Minolta SRT-SR ... also had horizontal shutters. The engineers determined that a horizontal shutter was the best to use. Use the camera and enjoy it or buy another brand.
My only leather straps are on my 30mm Fisheye and 500mm Hasselblad lens cases and I hold the lens cases when I use the straps because they are old and one shows signs of wear.
During the Alan Ross class I metered each filter and compared them to the filter factors. Basically pale, less dense filters metered accurately but the denser ones, Orange, R29, 720, did not.

Sometimes you can find used Hasselblad straps in good condition at KEH.com, KEH eBay, Samys eBay, and the other usual suspects, even at Photrio Classifieds and Large Format Photography Forum Classifieds.
The Hasselblad CX, CW, C/M and many others do not have electronic shutters. There a plenty of reasonably priced qualified Hasselblad repairmen around. Stop looking for excuses, please.
I have developed film and toned prints at the kitchen sink for decades. Before I start I remove anything related to food and cooking from the area including sponges and towels. I have separate sponges and towels for photography which I use to thoroughly scrub down the sink and counters. I use...
It is not that hard to do what you want. You need a changing bag, scissors, a tank, reels, developer [XTOL is a cheap one], stop bath with indicator [again cheap], hypo aka fixer [again cheap], some clothes pins, some nylon to hang the film. It is as easy as learning to fall off a motor cycle...
A post like that will get the Kodachrome stupids in a frenzy and we will have to put up with their poorly thought out demands for the impractical. The rest of us have put up with almost a decade of that crap and are fed up with it. It was never funny.
