Yeah thats pretty much what my Solaris looks like, I have some other negatives i shot on a cheap disposable camera from the 90s too which will be interesting to check the markings.
Yes I remember hearing a bit about this, that means that likely Ferrania had some good patents for X-ray film if...
Yes, they still have ex-employees that have the knowledge to bring it back too.
Regarding the Kirkland film from Costco, someone here must havr shot it. Its easy to tell if a film has been produced by ferrania, it has the unique markings with the + symbols in between the sprocket holes or the...
I wonder how big their big boy coating machine compared in size to Kodaks?
Its amazing they were able to perform coating runs for that long iirc 2007 was their last costing run they did there.
I have the impression that at that stage ferrania never had much in the way of a professional line of...
You reckon they made more of the stuff than Kodak or fuji? I know they were fairly big and made alot of re-labeled film for other brands, but didnt realise they were that big!
The price of e6 doesn't bother me too much as I dont shoot that much in a year but its not like c41 is much cheaper if we are talking about portra or ektar etc.
I spent almost 40 bucks (nzd) on a roll of the stuff not that long ago.
What's important to me is i can still shoot it.
I just need to...
Yes, that was also one reason Kodak re-introduced it from memory too. (what was the story with their new super8 camera, did it ever eventuate?)
There is probably a bigger market for it with motion pictures.
I believe that was the main goal for Film Ferrania also, since its founders were Italian...
Yes, but they dont even need it at this point, was part of their long term plan to use it and help scale things up, also allowing them to produce all the materials in house.
Apparently it was part of a blueprint that 3M had made for converting the LRF into a more sustainable factory in a...
Their current coating head is capable of doing colour film, all their r&d was done on it for all of their films.
I can't remember how many layers it could coat in one go, but if needed they simply would run the film through a second time for the next layers as far as im aware.
Agreed.
No complaints to speak about the film itself that I can see, it was more about how difficult it was to develop with current chemistry, it appears their new version will be more compatible with modern processes that other B&W films use.
As far as E6 goes, here's hoping.
It will be great...
Ive shot a bit of lucky, its not actually that bad to be honest, I would consider it a more neutral colour palette which is not a bad thing.
I had to look up what NC500 and Phoenix II even were, its great news to see some more colour films on the market which is good to see.
Ive got a roll or two of that lucky film from China, its supposed to be made on a kodacolor formula that Kodak licenced to the company inching or something. Ive got a few photos ive taken on it, might be a good comparison to shoot a roll of this side by side to see if it has any resemblance to...
Agreed. Ive just been spending the last hour or so going through the thread, your right about the AI summary, ive noticed a few things it got wrong re vision 3 etc.
Seems its all just speculation at this point with no definitive answer from EK. From what im gathering it's believed to be...
