Severely disabled and bedbound 24/7 following a mountain biking accident in my 40’s (dont argue with tree’s, it bloody well hurts.)
I’ve been into photography since I was 16 and in fact my first full time job was running the print & dark room at a local estate agents. So developing the films, printing the photographs then making the metal plate for the offset litho printer and printing the property details for each days mail shot as well as the directors “ask no questions and process these films for me please”.
I started with the lowly Zenit, then bought my brothers Nikon FM, then on having issues with my eyes moved to Canon for autofocus. Then decades later a move to Pentax for digital and finally to Sony for Full frame. During this time I added an old Nikon FM, then a 1964 Leica M2 and most recently a 1961Nikon F and pre AI 50mm f1.4 & 35mm f2.8 both early 60‘S.
Sadly home processing is out the window as I just dont have the motor skills needed but will still shoot when I can. The digital side of things is covered with a SonY Rx1R these days and a Sony HX300 as a grab and go option for longer distances.
my interests lay primarily in portrait photography and Black & White now, but I also love capturing the interplay of light and textures.
