Anyone happen to have such thing?
I have a Revueflex AC1 ( = memotron ce3) completely in pieces, and I have one extra purple wire š
I took photos and all, but still missed the one wire. It goes from break out solder point to.. somewhere? Along with 2 other purple ones. At the left side of...
I bought a Kiev 35A.
I had a "someone has been here before" moment looking at the top cover screws - and the metering needle spring was mangled. It sits a paper thin distance away from the top cover, so it was stuck and in wrong position. There are 2 such springs on both sides of the coil. I...
Hello Sven!
Yes it seems the "flipper wheel" isn't in the right gear tooth at all. When in Bulb mode, the filipper wheels lastmost edge (W) should be under the pin (P) keeping the mirror in up position while you press the shutter button. In your camera, the wheel edge goes too far past the pin...
I have also bought a couple of cameras that were sold "mint, never probably used" condition. That usually means, that they are cameras that were broken straight from factory package and then left to some warehouse, later to be sold by some ebayer that found them. Now I usually just buy cameras...
Btw, may I remind that getting the shutter travel speed indentical on both curtains may not be the preferred thing to do, since the curtains do speed up a bit. They start a bit slow and build up more speed at the end. Therefore, you should aim for a bit wider slit at the end (left side, looking...
So far I have most experience with soviet cameras, and out of those my favorites are either FED or Zenit. Yes, the parts quality is all over the place, but I don't mind having to fiddle with them a bit. I think it's a thing of certain learned skill. Like my wife that does a lot of sewing, I hate...
Ha, I was wrong again. The lens manufacturer has been wise and put holes in the barrel to access aperture grub screws without needing to unscrew helicoid š„°
The aperture was very stuck which had resulted in bent aperture pin. I pressed it back straight using drill press. Maybe not exactly mandatory, because the pin will just move the aperture as far it goes (towards the stop limiter)
The lens groups blackening was also deteriorating from the...
Got to forwarding this project again.
The front lens group had been previously "cleaned" from the rear (at the aperture) - resulting in lots of scratches. I don't know how someone had done it, maybe they used sandpaper when cleaning? There were no other damage, so it might even have been done...
Whoops, my bad, it seems to be that the rear group does in fact thread into the fixed portion, so there's no adjustment nor shims to worry about.
Let's make this an aperture fix thread then, I will post some pictures and info.
So I'm currently fixing a Polaris / Beroflex / Raynox / Sigma 85mm f/1.7 lens (as pictured).
The lens is with sort of built-in auto-aperture m42 adapter. It actually has a YS mount behind it - someone in the internet believes this is a Sun Opt. made lens, and I agree. Sold under several names...
The mirror mech consists of 3 parts
- hinged mirror with spring
- one lever for pushing the mirror up
- rotating "cup" with cutout on its side that pushes the lever up
The rotating disk rotates in tandem with curtain roller, so it has the same number of rotations (well, one.. ). It's just...
Yes, seems okay, at least the 1/500 is excellent. The 1/30 maybe a bit fast, I would try less rotations on the conical mirror helper spring.
There's one thing that came to my mind, about the speed test setup. Since you are using point lights, it could be that the dropping mirror is fooling it a...
